Everybody loves shortcuts. Whether you use them when you drive to avoid traffic or with your computer, they are always better than the normal way.

When you are working with your browser and you are in a hurry or, just like me, don’t like doing things slow, shortcuts are way better than the mouse.

Today I decided to write, or at least to begin writing, a growing keyboard shortcuts list for Firefox.

If you want to get one added, just leave a comment below this article, and I will add it as soon as possible.

Control Shortcuts

Ctrl+N Open a new browser window
Ctrl+T Open a new tab
Ctrl+W Close the current window or tab
Ctrl+Shift+T Re-open the last closed tab
Ctrl+Tab/Ctrl+PgDwn Switch to the next tab
Ctrl+Shift+Tab/Ctrl+PgUp Switch to the previous tab
Ctrl+[0-9] Switch to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. tab
Ctrl+F Open the text research box on the bottom
Ctrl+G Find the next occurrence of a search phrase during a research
Ctrl+Shift+G Find the previous occurrence of a search phrase during a research
Ctrl+K Move cursor to the Web Search widget (top right of screen)
Ctrl+Enter Add “http://www.” and “.com” around an address
Ctrl++(Plus sign) Increase the page font size
Ctrl+-(Minus sign) Decrease the page font size
Ctrl+U Display the source code of the current webpage in a new tab or window


Alt Shortcuts

Alt+← Back
Alt+→ Forward
Alt+Home Go to your homepage
Alt+D Move focus to the address bar to type in a URL
