Share Files Online Just Using Firefox


What do you do when you have to send a file to someone, but it is too big to be sent using a normal instant messenger or your email does not support such a large file?

In this mini-guide I want to list all of the best services that anyone of you can use to share and send any type of file just using a browser and an Internet connection.

If you want to contribute with a new service that no one knows about or you think it is the best out there, do not hesitate to post it in the comment section below.


Stream File

StreamFile is a web based file sharing system that you can use to send files to any email address. Just input as many email address you want, pick a file up to 2GB, and click send. People will receive a download link to get the file, which you can also share via IM or as you wish.

File Qube

File Qube is a file sharing service that anyone can use to share any type of file. Depending if you are registered or not, you can send files up to 500MB and have your personal 2GB space where you can create folders and upload any file in them that you can then share with a public link. Else, if not registered, you can share files up to 150MB, that will be automatically deleted after 30 days. In both cases the service is free to use.

Oosah

Oosah is a free service that gives you 2GB of storage space, where you can upload any type of multimedia file from your PC, or get it transferred directly from your Picasa, Flickr, YouTube or FaceBook account. You can create folders to organize your files and bring them with you wherever you are and, by clicking on any file, you create a public/password protected sharing link for people to access that file. Free to use, registration needed.

File Dropper

File Dropper is an online file hosting website that you can use to send large files with anyone. With no registration you can upload any file up to 5GB and, after the upload progress bar has finished, you will be given a sharing link for other people to get the file. Apart from the basic free version, other paid versions are available for password-protected sharing and up to 25GB of space per file. Free to use.

FileCrunch

FileCrunch is a free file hosting solution that you can use to share files up to 250MB each. With no sign up needed, you can browse for files on your computer, to which you can add an additional description. Then just click upload, wait for the progress bar to complete, and share the download with everyone you want to send the file to. The service is completely free to use, with no registration needed.

Wikisend

Wikisend is a free file sharing website that requires no registration. You just have to browse for your file, up to 100MB, give it a name and a description, set a lifetime (up to 90 days) and click upload. You will be given the file ID, that can be used to download a file from the site interface, and the sharing link that people can use without getting onto the site before. You can also set a password to protect your files. Free.

Jagbox

Jagbox is a free web-based sharing service that you can use to share files online. You can send any type of file up to 100MB to anyone just by selecting the file you want to share and the expiration time after which the file will be deleted; when done just click upload and share the link with your friends. The service is completely free to use with no registration needed.

MediaFire

MediaFire is one of my favorite online file sharing systems. You can share any type of file, up to 100MB each; after an upload has completed, a share-link will be provided to you: give that link to anyone you want to send the file to, and they will be able to get it instantly. MedaFire also allows you to register and get a free unlimited space in which you can store all of your files, that you can also organize in folders and share with anyone.

DropSend

DropSend is a free file sharing service that anyone can use to store and share files online. You can upload any type of file up to 1GB and share with everyone by typing their email address. A message with the download link will then be sent automatically to that person. With a simple free registration, it can also be used to store your files online and carry them with you wherever you are.

Filemail

Filemail is a web-based file sharing system that you can use to send an unlimited number of files, up to 2GB each, to anyone who has an email address. You can send any type of file just by selecting it from your PC through the Flash-based interface, set the options, such as the number of days/downloads the file will be available for, type the receiver’s email, and click send. When the progress bar will finish, an email will be sent to your friend with the download link. Free to use with no registration needed.

Driveway

Driveway is a file sharing application that enables you to send and store files online without registering. Just select a file, type the receiver’s and your email address and, when the upload will be finished, the download-link will automatically be sent to your friend. You can also upload multiple file at once and store them online by signing up to a Driveway account for free, which will offer you 2GB of free online file storage.
